Project: Community Health Internship (Undergraduate) – CLOSED
Chateh is a community of about 900 members which is part of the wider Dene Tha’ First Nation. The intern will work with staff housed in the Health Centre, located in Chateh.
Chateh is looking for an intern to work with their health staff to support community health workshops and initiatives. Part of the intern’s duties will include coordinating youth attendance to events and programs outside the community, which may include opportunities for the intern to attend celebrations and other youth events.
Additionally the intern will work with the Youth and Recreation Intern to develop programming for the youth of the communities, including regular sporting events, workshops and educational camps.
The ideal intern will have a background in community health or social work and an interest in working with First Nations, and especially youth. The position is open to any student with expertise in health, nutrition, education, physical education, social work, or other related fields.
The ideal candidate will be flexible and willing to work in a remote community with limited resources. The intern must be willing to show initiative and use their skills as appropriate when given the opportunity.
The intern should hold a class 5 drivers license.
